English Premier League Still The Best

Which one is the best? Premier League or La Liga? There’s just one day left to end the transfer window this summer. Still, any possibilities can be occurred in 24 hours ahead. Recent major transfer display out two Ex-Real Madrid’s Dutchman Wesley Sneijder & Arjen Robben’s transfer saga. Sneijder finally agrees to join Inter Milan for 5 years contract while Robben has moved to Bayern Muenchen in undisclosed deal. The last name above even just made a very impressive debut by scoring twice against Wolfsburg and led The Bavarian to beat that Bundesliga title holder three goals to nil. Meanwhile in the other saga, Manchester City have also strengthened their defense by signing English international center-back Joleon Lescott from Everton. Another “not needed” player of Real Madrid Rafael Van der Vaart also has a chance to leave Santiago Bernabeu after ruling out from 25 registered players for La Liga this season.

The following big transfers have put Real Madrid into the biggest spender due to their 250 million Euros expenditure. Press then calls them as Neo Galacticos because of their massive transfer. Another La Liga title contender Barcelona has also made a huge deal by swapping Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovich to play alongside Lionel Messi. La Liga fans are simply jubilant to answer it and pretty sure that La Liga will again be number one domestic league in Europe replacing English Premier League (EPL). As we know, Barcelona now are the best team in Europe because of their quintable this year. Their world-class striker Lionel Messi is the strongest candidate to get Ballon D’Or next December. Moreover, five biggest world transfer in history are in La Liga. Therefore, everyone’s currently talking about La Liga, especially about El Classico, the long-standing rivalries between Real Madrid and Barcelona. That’s simply reasonable. Nobody on this planet doesn’t feel like to watch Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Lionel Messi show their own spectacular abilities just in the one stage!!

Who will win the Spanish crown?

Who will win the Spanish crown?

However, no matter how glamor La Liga is, I currently still consider EPL as the best domestic league in Europe for any reasons. EPL is more unpredictable than La Liga. As we know, two La Liga giants’ qualities are far cry from other competitors. That’s made it more predictable since it seems that the title won’t be won by all La Liga teams apart from Real Madrid & Barcelona. That’s it! If there’s a chance of an upset, I think it’s all but impossible. May be just the fight to reach two tickets left to qualify in champions league among Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla, & Atletico Madrid that will be a “violent clash”.

What about EPL? I realize that the “big four” community are still favorite. Chelsea seem to be stronger since they hired Carlo Ancelotti as their new boss. They also have so many world-class players in their squad that make them serious title chasers. Manchester United are still in their own class as a solid team in Europe. Wayne Rooney is now plotted as goal getter to take Ronaldo’s role last season and he has answered it by scoring 4 goals in his first 4 matches. Arsenal display a sexy football by scoring 16 goals in their first five matches on the entire competition.  And another “big four” member Liverpool still have a passion to end their title drought in last two decades. They are believed to match all of their opponents in fury.

English Premier League, still the best

But one thing that’s made EPL title race thicker is the appearance of the new english power Manchester City. With all do respect, I bet they won’t win the crown this season. However, they have many high quality players such as Robinho, Carlos Tevez, Kolo Toure, Gareth Barry, &  Emmanuel Adebayor. The last name above even always scored in his first three matches as Citizen’s player. With that wonderful squad, The Citizen aren’t simply supposed to be obstacles for the “big four”, but the title contenders! I think in the near future, we’ll no longer set the EPL title chasers as “big four”, but “big five” by counting City in. On the other hand, La Liga only have “big two” because of Madrid-Barcelona superiority. Sevilla, Atletico, & Valencia still need a miracle to be the champion.

That’s why I regard EPL as the best domestic league in Europe rather than La Liga. Then, the most interesting topic is to predict who will win the crown of those comely leagues in the end of this season. Well, table never lies.  Debating who will win the competition is just a considerable amount of by-play. Just set your alarm on every kick-off time, be ready to keep up with the throughout competition, and keep your fingers crossed for your favorite team. Trust me, 2009-2010 season is gonna be a tough season and pretty interesting.
